The brand is just as much about the original Brooklyn Boy himself as it is about the bagel. Owner-baker, Michael Shafran, lives and breathes New York and his customers love him for it. Approach
The bagels were as authentic as the Brooklyn boy himself. So, our mission was to promote the culture that brought this New York dream to life. We dug deep into our love of 90s hip hop, the Sopranos, and Staten Island. On the social feed, we set about profiling Michael’s life – to portray everything he learnt and loved while he lived there. To show how his authentic passion for bagels – from boiling to baking and taking the final bite – translated into the bakery we know today.
